The International Power System Conference (PSC) has a unique role in science forums both inside and outside of Iran. The earliest power conference in Iran has been held in 1967 by Shiraz University. Although that event had attracted many researchers, it was not continued. Two decades later in 1985, Tavanir Co. started to take place another event, TEPCON, which engaged participants from 23 countries.
In 1986, the conference secretariat has been formed by Tavanir Co. to host the “National Grid Electricity Conference” annually on October/November. Four years later, they changed the title to “International Power System Conference” as foreign researchers participate in the event. By the 1998, the constructions of event’s halls in NRI was ended and PSC developed the topics to environment, socio-economic issues, management and etc. to attract more people around the power industry.
Tavanir Co. is the founder of PSC and still continue to hold this event.
